Favourite Food and Birthdays
Happy 3.Birthday, dear Nicholas !
The Pre-Kindergarten children were also very happy about the sunny weather, moved their bodies a lot and enjoyed the train game.
On Tuesday another friend in Pre-KG turned 3 and she came in a beautiful pink princess dress and with cute presents for her friends. Happy 3. Birthday, dear Tsudoi !
Tsudoi's mother decorated with many pink balloons (including hearts !) and she had baked some delicious cookies for everyone! Thank you so much!
The secret ingredient was rice flour and we will share the recipe soon !
And please enjoy singing along to this German baking song that has been popular for decades.
The children then talked about how they liked cookies, bananas, sushi, noodles and much more, so we naturally started to discuss favourite food items.
Using crayons to draw or cuttings from supermarket leaflets, the children created their own chart and lively discussed when they eat these and why (it's so yummy).
As noodles with tomato sauce are very popular among the children, we watched a fun German song which shows the whole family cooking.
On Wednesday Masahiro from K1 kindly invited all of the EY classes to celebrate his 4.Birthday with him. We all had a good time singing together and then shared the yummy banana cupcakes which his father had baked for everyone.
And the Pre-KG enjoyed their puzzle presents. Merci beaucoup to Masa's parents!
Happy 4. Birthday, dear Masahiro !
The children continued their cooking adventures, coming up with a lot of interesting options and healthy bentos.
Sushi with oranges - why not, hamburger with strawberries - sounds good to me.
The children's creativity made for good discussions and they had to be open-minded as not everyone agreed with everyone's choices.
On Thursday, the last day of school we watched with all the other classes and many of our parents the Assembly of Grade 2 which took us in rockets around the solar system. It was a stellar performance, fantastic job, Grade 2 and kudos to their teachers Mr.Brabant and Ms.Renu !
Pre-Kindergarten also had a trial friend in class and the children were very keen to show their knowledge about animals and what they had seen on our excursion to Kobe Animal Kingdom.
It was fascinating to hear how much their vocabulary has expanded during this unit related to "Animals and Food" and how much they have learnt about the animals‘ eating habits.
You are amazing, Pre-Kindergarten children and true inquirers!
I am so much looking forward to hearing about your many adventures after the spring break.
And we were all so happy to meet once again a dear Pre-KG classmate, Santiago and his mother and sister who came by to say goodbye before their own flight adventure back to Panama.
Gracias and merci for your friendship and see you again some day !
Wishing you all a pleasant, sunny and blossom filled spring break !
