Sports Day and more !
The week started with our exciting Sports Day where the whole DSKI school community came together to celebrate sportsmanship, movement and friendship.
The EY children had practiced various games over the last weeks and while dancing to the Körperteilblues they showed that they also had good knowledge of the German language.
It was heartwarming to see how much the children tried their best, but in the process they never forgot to help their friends – no obstacle was too hard and the teamwork was fabulous!
Everyone cheered for everyone and the whole day was a joyful experience which ended with every child getting a medal.
Great job, Pre–Kindergarten children and friends from K1 and K2!
Thank you to Mr. Brabant for the wonderful preparation, to the EY teacher for their team effort, to the PTA for the yummy fruit snacks and to all the the lovely parents and families for showing their support !
On Tuesday, we had the next delightful event, because we celebrated a double birthday in our Pre–Kindergarten class ! Heartfelt congratulations to our two birthday boys, we were so happy to celebrate with you !
The whole class enjoyed the cheerful atmosphere and the plentiful and delicious fruits provided by the parents. Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag und vielen Dank für die leckeren Früchte ! Wir haben uns gefreut mit den Geburtstagskindern feiern zu können !
Throughout the week the children deepened not only their friendship, but also their knowledge on two different units.
They revised colours and shapes through a variety of activities like matching objects to puzzle pieces or creating collages with shapes! We saw some amazing robot and racing cars !
There is a cute shape song that could be shown on a rainy day ! 😉
Some children used fine motor skills, glue and many triangles to create a beautiful autumn tree.
Mr. Lubin also taught the children to make amazing scratch art with toothpicks, templates and magic paper ! What a surprise to see all the shining colours!
We ended the week with stretching exercises in class and the children could imitate the movements of the teachers well.
The goal was to become the shape of a gingerbread man which then was the shape of our craft activity. The children drew faces and squiggles and decorated the little men with colourful circles. We will hang these charming gingerbread men ornaments on our school Christmas tree which will be displayed in the hallway next week. What a fabulous week of active learning !
Ich wünsche euch und Ihnen ein schönes Wochenende!
Kind regards, mit freundlichen Grüßen,
