Pre-KG 2021/22 Blog 2 A great start Into Art !

Pre-KG 2021/22 Blog 2

A great start into Art !

In their first full week at school, the Pre-Kindergarten children got used to the new routines and explored various toys and games in the classroom.

They started to experiment with different media and tools .

After days of rain, the children commented on the cloudy sky and then took the opportunity to create their impressions by making their first prints using cloud shaped sponges and some cloudy colours (plus a sunny one !).

The children also worked with play dough, showing amazing concentration. Using their fine motor skills by kneading, rolling, pressing and squeezing the dough, they had lots of fun making different animals and shapes.

Finally, Friday was a VERY busy day !

It started with a morning circle together with K1, continued with P.E., which was followed by a whole school Emergency Earthquake / Tsunami drill and then ended with a very exciting visit to the FASHION MUSEUM.

The exhibition featured charming artwork by famous artist Osamu Harada and the Pre-KG children and teachers were very lucky to have been able to view this popular art exhibition, courtesy of the museum staff.

The children were well behaved, showed great interest and commented on many details of the posters and pictures.

Good job, Pre-KG !

What a wonderful opportunity to experience art on different levels !

Because….you are never too young or too old to enjoy art !

Happy beginnings in Pre-Kindergarten!

Three little children (our fourth friend is still on holidays !) started their Pre-Kindergarten class this Thursday with a very busy morning and what a fantastic job they did !

After a little time needed for adjustment, they showed over the period of only 2 (!!) days that they were capable of doing so many things already by themselves:

Exploring the classroom, getting along with new friends (their own class and others !), sharing toys, building block towers, using pushcarts efficiently, doing puzzles, eating nicely and attending the morning circle !

The children also showed great interest in the colour pins and boards, creating their first pieces of art !

The children were really amazing !

What a wonderful start into the new school year and into our unit of “How we express ourselves” - “Colours and Shapes” !

Together with David, who will be assisting me in Pre-KG, I am looking forward to an exciting school year with many new discoveries !

Dear parents of the Pre-Kindergarten class of 2021/22 @DSKI,

A heartfelt welcome to the new parents and welcome back to our parents who have been with our school.

I hope that you all had a relaxing summer with your families.

I am so excited to be your children's Pre-Kindergarten teacher this year and I am looking forward to a fun school year with many new discoveries.

This school year I will be assisted by Mr.David Meerwein, who has many years of experience teaching children.

Of course, the Pre-Kindergarten teachers are part of the fantastic EY team which consists of other experienced and devoted teachers.

Your children will have plenty of opportunities to grow, learn, challenge themselves and make good friends in a caring and safe environment.

Please do not hesitate to approach me with any questions you may have.

Wishing you a good start into the school year!
